JAMAMICA ON HIGH FOR DENGUE
Some part of Jamaica is experiencing a good amount of rain fall. Due to this frains are clogged because of inadequate cleaning and lands have become water log
Some gullies have water which become stagnant and are likly places for the breeding of the masquito that carries the dengue virus.
It is not just the issue of rain fall but the fact that many parts of island are still experiencing drought and water has to be catch or truck and stored in and around the home in uncovered drums which cause the breading of mosquitoes
. Young children are mo
re susceptible to the mosquito bites and are more likely to get the virus.
A few children have died from the dengue virus over the past 2 months.
The ministry of health is sendng out bulletins on how to handle the virus if one seem to get the virus.
There is also massive cleaning and health education concerning environment cleaning and the containers in and around the home
that that holds water.
